Crystal Chandelier Cleaning and Care Schedule
How often to clean, what solution to use and what never to do.
A clean chandelier throws noticeably more light. Most people wait far too long between cleanings.
Suggested schedule
Dust every two months with a dry microfibre glove; full wet clean once a year in most homes, twice a year in kitchens or near the coast.
Method
Turn the power off at the switch and let bulbs cool. Photograph the chandelier before removing any crystals so they go back in the right order. Wash drops in warm water with a little dish soap, rinse, and dry with a lint-free cloth.
What never to do
No ammonia on gilded or antique frames, no dishwashers, and never spray liquid onto an assembled fixture — it runs into sockets.
